| dc:description | Terms such as compliance, adherence, persistence and concordance can largely define the parameters of quality health care, and pharmacological dynamics in terms of prescribing and taking medicines. Compliance/adherence is a measure according to which a patient is given instructions for taking prescribed therapy, that is, his active involvement in defining it. There are a number of ways to determine the persistence of patients against therapy. Particularly suitable are the tests that lead to the testimony of the patients themselves, since they are cheaper and more direct; in addition, we come to the patient's attitude about taking the drug. A limiting factor in such research is the inadequate comprehensibility of the issue, as well as the distrust and fear of patients from publishing data on taking of medications. By searching PubMed magazine database with the keyword adherence, compliance, persistence, and the self-report questionnaire, we have come to all of the known scales of persistence and most of them have been designed in the period 2005-2012. The most important sources are articles where the scales for assessing persistence are described and evaluated. The inclusion criterion was the applicability in determining persistence in chronic diseases and a relatively high coefficient of internal consistency. The article presents individual scales with its advantages and disadvantages, and discusses the possibilities of identifying the causes of incompatibility in certain chronic diseases. Although there are a significant number of different scales, there is still no talk about a gold standard, although this is the nearest Medication Adherence Questionnaire (MAQ)/ Morisky scale. This synthesis of literature is carried out with the desire to draw closer to the problem of compliance/adherence and influence the intensification of efforts to improve it. |
